ZIKR
after prayer
After
the Farz prayer is finished there are some hymns (Tasbih) for the remembrance
of Allah and His Greatness. This may be said at the option of the individual
worshipper. The following has, however, been recommended by the traditions
and the jurists (vide Durre Mukhtar): (1) To read………
Astagfarullah
(I) seek forgiveness to Allah) several times, preferably twelve times;
(2) Allaho la ilaha illa hu, Al-Hayyu ‘l-Qayyum, la ta’khuzuhu
sinatun wa la naom, lahu ma fi’s-samawati wa ma fi’l-ard
man za ‘l-lazi yashfau ‘indahu illa bi-iznih; ya’lamu
ma baina aydihim wa ma khlfahum wa la yuhituna bishai’ mmin’
ilmihi illa bima sha; wasia kursiyyuhu’s-asmawati wa ‘l-ard
wa la ya’uduhu hifzuhuma wa huwa ‘l-‘Aliyyu ‘l-Azim.
Allah is He beside Whom there is no God, the Ever-living, the Self-subsisting
by Whom all subsist; slumber does not overtake Him nor sleep; whatever
is in the earth is His; who is he that can intercede with Him but by
His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them,
and they cannot comprehend anything out of His knowledge except what
He pleases; His command extends over the heavens and earth, the preservation
of them tries Him not, and He is the Most High, the Great.
(3)Subhan Allah. (Glory be to God.)
Al-Hhamdo li’l-Lahi. (All praise is to Allah.)
Allaho Akbar. (Allah is the Greatest.)
Each 33times;
(4)
and if possible
Wala haw la wala kowata Illah Billah
There is no strength and power except from Allah
100 times.
These formulas of divine glory may also be recited after Sunnat prayers.
