Things
which are Obscene(MAKRU) in Nammaz
Through
the performance of any of the under mentioned instances whilst in Namaaz
the Namaaz does not become putrid (Fasid), and it need not be re-read,
but the reward (Sawaab) is lessened and the person is a sinner.
(i) Fiddling and didgetting about with the clothes and body. (ii) Lifting
the trousers to prevent it from touching the floor with both hands.
(iii) Wearing such clothes which the worshipper would be ashamed to
wear in a public gathering. (iv) Keeping money or any such article in
the mouth which will prevent reading clearly. (v) Reading Namaaz with
bare head. (vi) Reading Namaaz whilst uneasy through call of nature.
(vii) Looking about anywhere else other than explained in No.3 of Section
E of Appendix II. (viii) Snapping the fingers. (ix) Touching the floor
with the elbow while in Sajdah (applies to men only). (x) Yawning intentionally
and not stifling it when possible. (xi) Performing Namaaz when wearing
clothes with patterns of men or animals. (xii) Reading Namaaz in a room
in which are displayed photos of men of animals. (xiii) Counting Suras
or Tasbih on the fingers. (xiv) Wearing such clothes that overhand unnecessarily
and such are too long. (xv) Making the second and subsequent Rak’ats
longer than the first. (xvi) Wearing silk clothes and gold rings (applies
to men only). (xvii) Standing separate from the Suf (Row) in congregational
prayer. (xviii) Keeping the arm bare up to the elbow. (xix) Reading
of one Sura repeatedly in Farz prayer. (xx) Praying alone in the Mahrab
(Alter. (xxi) Leaning on anything held in the hand. (xxii) Allowing
the fingers to fall on the knees while in Jalsa.
