(138) ‘Utba
bin Ubald related to us; he relates that the Apostle of God said: “If
a person lies continually in prostration, from the day of his birth
to the day of his death, seeking the countenance of the Lord, he will
consider it worthless on the Day of Judgement.”

Commentary.-When on the Day of Resurrection the scales will fall from
the eyes and the scenes of Reward and Punishment become manifest, the
faithful bondmen who will have spent most of their lives in prayer and
adoration will feel that they had done nothing of note so much so that
if anyone had remained in prostration from the day of his birth to the
day of his death, he, too, will consider his deed to be of no value.
